3 March 2010, 12:51 AM

Upon the release of our Control Panel application version 1.1 we had reports of some errors on loading data, We sent a fix our for this in 1.1.1 which then created other errors. We then applied the same to 1.1.2 and yet again fixed error in one place and created some where else.

We have now taken a little longer than expected. Completely rewritten the login process for Control Panel for iPhone, Now the connection is exchanged faster. It's been tested over the past few days in remote areas with low EDGE and larger area with high 3G and then also on different Wifi networks. With also rewritten the whole login process we have overcome the issue of symbols in passwords and are now deploying that fix across the Control Panel applications.

Using various Control Panel hosts and servers we have now fixed all issues noted. We've also updated some API functions to new methods for that quickness.

Control Panel WHM has been going though speed test making it faster for the user. You can now connect to the application, then select a user, then login and list accounts in the following times.

  • Medium Wifi (4MB connection) coming in at 8 Seconds
  • Slow 3G (1 bar) coming in at 14 Seconds
  • Medium EDGE connection (3 bars) coming in at 26 Seconds
Tests where completed on the O2-UK network in a medium coverage area. Wifi range was within 50 meters. Device was a 3GS standard setup running 3.1.2 firmware. We can only show examples of testing and cannot guarantee you will be getting it to work at the above speed. You may find it works faster

22 November 2009, 10:36 PM

Information on the Control Panel crash on open bug is outlined here. I have simulated the crash finally and seem to have found the issue however its not a fixed issue.

1.0 - Crashes on Start up

1.0.1 - Opens but does not work

Issue outlined

Issue is found when the user has port 2083 or 2082 redirected or either one of the other is down. Our system can use both as backends if one fails it goes to the other however. If they are redirected then our system fails. We still have to work on a fix for this issue and is open going.

Remember all our Control Panel range is going though a "cut the crap" stage which also improves the speed of the apps. The apps are being cut right down to the core and uses the only resources which are required to ensure speed.

20 November 2009, 6:13 PM

Our Control Panel for iPhone range is to see a new update go under development sometimes you might see slowness in the applications. We have been working on speed.

We have some connection of loading data 3 times faster than before, Thats saving alot of time.

Before the application took 34 seconds to load on 3G now it takes 10.5 seconds to open and to a ready state. This is just an example and may not be that much faster for yourself however it will be faster and also we have cut out alot of rubbish code to speed the process aswell.

Look our for the updates once updated you will see the information here. Speed updates will be released as the following Control Panel Root 1.1.1, Control Panel 1.0.1, Control Panel Lite 1.0.1,

22 October 2009, 10:44 PM

Today was the release of the Windows 7 operating system i was able to download my copy a few minutes past midnight last night.

I have downloaded the copy and installed in on a Virtual Machine on my MacBook. As backing up on my Windows Machine it taking amazingly long 106GB of the network to backup and then check everything is there doing this by files in a folder and size of network.

You can watch some of my Windows 7 live stream here. (Not Live anymore)

Connection gets cut and i lose the ending part however you can catch up with the images on my mobile uploads found on Facebook.

Adding all this up Windows 7 is fast compared to Vista and may even be faster then Windows XP. This looks a good operating system which has come out of Microsoft and it might just push them back into the market. To provide them with a very large hold again.

Looks Good

18 October 2009, 12:33 AM

How my Activation Platform works and why it cannot be broken.

On the client side upon the first open they will connect with server and receive a 0 then go to activation stage them complete the payment and return where the device is activated then there UDID and unique changeable key is send to the registered server and updated. You now have access to the application.

Upon access the application again it goes straight in to the application upon notice that the device UDID state is registered. However the red rings show that these stages could easily be broken to allow then application to open without fail which would mean access to the application. However yes you have access to the application but are blocked from the server.

Upon opening on the application a new 32 charter key is generated and updated to the server via your UDID. This key is processed by the server so it will check the remote database for a 1 or 0 once it goes to the server and check this is where your hack would break as it would require for the server to 1 to then generate you a new access key. So if there server shows as 0 and the client side shows as 1 you will not be generated a key meaning that the application would just open and work however data saving and input fields within the application would not process and to process they require the generated access key which is unique every time.

Access inside the Secure Access Layer (Orange Box) requires matching UDID, matching generated key and a value of 1. Any data inside the orange box means it checks this data every time so the if 1 statement process by the check is run inside the Secure Access Layer.

16 October 2009, 10:36 PM

So its time i started developing for the App Store. I submitted my first test application on the 4 October but did not say anything as it was really just an application to go though the process of getting into App Store ready. The main concept of the application is to display an a display of this blog in an application from an RSS feed. Its simple but just an simple application to get to the app store.

However on the 14 October, 10 days after submission, Apple rejected my application due to the issue that is there was no connection to the device or it was present in Airplane mode that it would display no data. I have now corrected this with an alert which displays the error and resubmitted to the App Store. Hopefully will be released shortly.

15 October 2009, 8:59 PM
I've now completed the design, concept and have the full idea for my App for the Application Store there is no other Application like and it hopefully will be used my many.

Work will start on this application within the next few days and will be submitted to Apple within a week hopefully. No information is going to be released at this moment as its a unique application i don't want anyone to get hold of the idea and get into App Store before me.

12 October 2009, 8:01 PM

Application data sending between connected server and receive. When accessing data on a remote location via application it requires two things a unique UDID and  unique Key. The UDID can easily be taken and used to obtain information so also a Key is used. This Keys all the time.

Upon editing your data your Key becomes invalided and if you quit without saving then a new Key will be generated the same as if you will save a new Key will be generated. This key will update a random times - Different for each users.

Upon a change you may be asked to open the application to reset your new Key with your device.

This Key system is programmed to make sure the data is 100% secure the connect between the server during this periods is made via 128-bit SSL

11 October 2009, 12:44 PM

I'm requesting up to 20 maybe more depending on how testing is required. As you can see from the pictures below its a new iPhone application which will become released on Cydia. At the moment its running under Blue Front however Beta testers will find the release name in the beta bundle.

  • An jail broken iPod Touch or iPhone running Firmware 3.0 or later.

SourceExplore has been released into Cydia Store, It allows you to view the source code of any web page on the internet. Its great for developers as they can view the source of mobile website. What  is even better it has its own URL scheme and uses source://.

SourceExplore is out in Cydia Store for $1.99

Using its own URL scheme allows you to open a web page from Safari by changing /linkout.php?url= to source:// to give you the source code of a website.
